Milford Police Department responded to a burglary alarm at a Bridgeport Avenue business at 11:55 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24. The business owner was also able to contact police, and indicated he could see a male via surveillance cameras wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans inside of the business parking lot, police said.
Officers arrived and found a male matching the description attempting to hide on the property.
The man was placed in handcuffs while they investigated the incident. A preliminary investigation showed three other businesses in the area had either been broken into or attempted to be.
Officers then spoke with the suspect, Isaias Mendoza-Perez of 1020 Bridgeport Ave. in Milford, about the incident. Mendoza-Perez told officers that he had an argument with his wife and “does stupid things when he fights with her”.
Mendoza-Perez was charged with three counts of criminal attempted burglary, larceny and three counts of criminal mischief.
Mendoza-Perez is being held on a $100,000 bond to appear in Milford Court on Wednesday, Dec. 26.
